Family Training is simply the trainings and counseling services we provide to families of children with autism. Every child with autism needs special care. This is why we have established courses and special seminars for parents to improve their understanding of children with autism and to spread its awareness on an international basis. With this training, we are able to help parents deal with their children at home, the same way we treat them in their therapeutic sessions in our center. For the purposes of this service, “family” is defined as the person who lives with or provides care for a person with autism, and may include a parent, spouse, children, relatives, foster family, or in-laws. Scheduling for family training services is variable and dependent on the child’s needs as well as the family’s desire for the service.
Services Provided during Family Training
Individualized, hands-on training and instructions to the child’s family about the interventions they may use with their child in the home and the community. This is done through parents attending direct sessions with the child’s therapists.
Training to assist the family help the child acquire, retain, or improve skills such as communication skills. This is carried out through workshops and making families understand the underlying causes of children’s conditions.
Training to assist the family help the child identify and respond to dangerous situations as well as making safety decisions.
Other necessary trainings/instructions to assist the family help the child in a wide variety of areas that directly affect the child’s development and ability to reside as independently as possible.
